Late broadcaster, Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong (KABA) read so many letters but one. The content would have filled him with pride. He didn’t read it not because it was not delivered to him but kept in the hearts of many. The message was hidden from the intended recipient. In a profession where praise is rare and rationed just like the way food was rationed in 1983, knowing the impact one’s work is having on the society is worth-savoring and refreshing. But the ‘83 rules obtain today in media practice. The content of the letter is littered in the hundreds of tributes that poured in following KABA's death. It reads: Dear Kwadwo: It’s a big thing and a big issue. Yes, your death like others has been so painful that words and wailing cannot adequately express the grief and
Ghanaian chemical engineer, Dr Thomas Mensah says he could revamp the country’s railway system at the cost of $6billion. He said he will achieve this by employing high-speed trains known as bullet trains that will link communities in the northern and southern parts of Ghana. The US National Academy of Inventors fellow told Myjoyonline.com Thursday, he will use a fibre-optic technology to shrink the travel time to 200 miles per hour (mph). The current estimated travel time from Accra to Bolgatanga, the capital of Upper East Region is 11 hours. His comment came months after the Ghana Railway Development Authority requested $21.5billion to procure new coaches and renovate lines. A master plan drafted in 2013 to bolster the sector has proposed the construction of 4,007.6 kilome
As I sit back to watch what is going on in the Ghana music industry I sometimes shed tears. I see no good future in it. The worst thing killing our industry is where music lovers and business people get the end products of young men and women's sweat for free. Since the sales of CDs are not more fashioning properly here in Ghana, if an upcoming artiste don't get a good paying show to perform, then he or she moves on the street struggling to get a means to finance a new work. Bloggers get free access to songs and push them on their sites and when people download them the singer, composer, producer and investors on that specific song don't get a penny from it. This is killing our industry drastically and if authorities don't take measures against it, there will be a time no one will go...

Self acclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale, has revealed his desire to sleep with songstress, Ebony. Shatta wale made the comment following a rant against Ghanaians in support of Nigerian music at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday. Shatta Wale in the rant said the country is blessed with several talented musicians hence his shock as to why a section of Ghanaians still see the need to ‘push’ and ‘promote’ Nigerian music in Ghana. After mentioning a number of musicians whom he believes are more than capable of matching Nigerian acts, Shatta Wale then made the sexually suggestive statement to Ebony. “…Too much Nigeria, too much Nigeria. How many of you wan hear Ghana music alone? You don’t like Shatta Wale? You don’t like Stonebwoy, Ah Ghana! You no like Stonebwoy? You don’t like Sa
One of the biggest music events on the calendar is the S Concert which happens every year and 2017’s edition happened yesterday at the Accra Sports stadium which witnessed lots of musical performances from the likes of Joyce Blessing, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Edem, etc but one of the main acts for the show, Samini couldn’t perform. According to him, he felt disrespected after the organisers made him wait for about 4 hours backstage when he had been scheduled to perform at 1:30am. But Samini was not the only musician who was billed to perform and couldn’t perform. Some A-list artistes like Ebony, Mr.Eazi, Shaker and Koko cue. For Mr.Eazi we have learned he even came all the way from London just so he could perform at the S Concert but it didn’t just happen. See the full list of

The much talked about S concert happened yesterday at the Accra Sports stadium. It was a mix of fun moment and boring moments as several artistes climbed the stage to perform but something weird happened at the S Concert that we are not really excited about. We all know this year’s S Concert was mainly for our 3 top artistes, Samini, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale and so, therefore, it was expected that the three of them would all perform at the concert no matter what but Samini couldn’t perform and it was not because he didn’t want to–Someone didn’t want him to. We’ve heard several gossips on events that happened backstage at the S-Concert but we would just stick to Samini’s story for now. The legendary dancehall artiste in a video he posted on Social media explained that he could

Decyple has always been one of the most creative Dancehall artist in the country, and he has practically showcased his talent on so many occasions and in numerous ways. Decyple seems to be cooking up something tight with the Mutiple Award Winning Dancehall artiste; Samini, which I believe will be the next biggest thing for the year. On Remixone Entertainment Show ,when Decyple was asked by the host his relationship with Samini and whether it’s true that he wants Samini to sign him onto his record label.
