The Chairman of Parliament’s Finance Committee says a call by the minority for a probe into government’s $2.25 billion local bond issue is completely baseless. Dr Mark Assibey Yeboah told Evans Mensah on Joy FM's Top Story Tuesday the issues raised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MPs against the bond are not tenuous. The Minority at a news conference in Accra Tuesday called for a Parliamentary probe into a local bond issued by government on April 3, 2017. The NDC MPs said the bond, participated by only two investors, was “shrouded in secrecy to the extent that Ghanaian investors were denied the opportunity to participate in the deal.” The MPs said one of the investors who patronised the bond, Franklyn Templeton, has a link to Enterprise Group Limited of which Finance

State prosecutors yesterday ended further evidence in-chief of Hajia Zainabu Adams, wife of Adams Mahama, the slain Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Led in the final phase of the evidence by Matthew Amponsah, chief state attorney, in a court presided over by Justice L.L. Mensah, Madam Zainabu indentified the gallon containing the deadly substance reportedly poured on her husband.
