Lionel Messi hailed the quality of Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portugal star helped Real Madrid to retain their Champions League title. The Barcelona icon and Ronaldo are often competing for the top team and individual honours in the world game, with the Madrid forward hot favourite to win his fifth Ballon d’Or in 2017. That would see the former Manchester United star match the Argentina international after his side’s 4-1 final win over Juventus in Cardiff. Messi, though, insisted the perceived rivalry between the pair is hyped up by the media and was happy to talk up Ronaldo’s ability. Ronaldo’s constant drive to improve is what most impressed Messi, who labelled him as one of the world’s best players. “That thing about our rivalry is something more invented by the press than by
Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng may well return to the Black Stars in the near future after head coach Kwesi Appiah revealed his readiness to recall the suspended duo. The Portuguese came out on top each time and in an interview with France Football, the Frenchman joked: "I hate him!" And even though the Madeira-born forward has been below his best in the current campaign, he produced probably his finest game of the season against Atletico in November, hitting a hat-trick at the Vicente Calderon as Real ran out 3-0 wi...

In 1954, 12-year-old Cassius Clay rode his bike to a community event in his Louisville neighborhood. They were giving out free popcorn and candy. But when he left the Columbia Auditorium, his red-and-white Schwinn was gone; it had been stolen. A passerby suggested that he talk to Joe Martin, a police officer who operated a boxing gym in the basement of the auditorium in his spare time. With angry tears in his eyes, Cassius told Martin, “If I find the guy who took my bike, I’m gonna whup him.” The boxing trainer responded, “Do you know how to fight? You should know how to fight if you’re going to whup somebody.” On that day, the boy who would become Muhammad Ali started down the path to boxing superstardom.
