State prosecutors yesterday ended further evidence in-chief of Hajia Zainabu Adams, wife of Adams Mahama, the slain Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The Accra Domestic Violence and Gender-Based Court has advised parties in the assault case involving Bishop Daniel Obinim, Founder of International God’s Way Church, to exercise self-restraint. The judge, Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku, said the complainant and the private legal practitioner Irene Aborchie should not leave the court’s premises at the same time. The judge ruled that after every court sitting, the complainant would leave the court five minutes before Obinim and his two pastors also do so. Former President John Mahama has revealed he almost quit politics to go into private business in 2008. He said he had to stay in public service because the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by the late president Mills won the presidential elections that year. Mr Mahama made the revelation when he spoke at the first official reading of his first book 'My first Coup D'etat' at the University of Ghana Tuesday. There has been a rancorous debate within the opposition NDC which he led into the 2016 elections over his political future.
